As I finished reading Lauren’s Full Time Girl Anniversary post today, I noticed a very catchy title to another blog post of hers entitled, Relationship Status: [Still] Single in the right hand side of her website. I couldn’t help it. It was as if the link had a magnetic force that my cursor couldn’t resist clicking on! I don’t know about you, but when I read blog posts or articles, sometimes the comments/reactions intrigue me more than the author’s content itself. So for this blog post, I scrolled down and noticed a very long comment…from a guy. “Holy wow! A comment from a guy should be super interesting,” I thought.

As I read his comment, I realized that he couldn’t be more right when he said, “I am going through the same thing as you girls. I am still single and to be honest I have been looking for a woman (not even a godly one) myself. I have lowered my value as a man for a short amount of time and I was that close to get myself into fornication when I could hear God’s voice shouting at me a big no. Thank God I listened to Him on that day. Worries of ending up alone got me there. Satan knows how to use people around you to make you do stupid things. In the meantime, I am getting closer to God, learning to always look upon Him and Him only, not my abilities. Not always easy, especially when you are having your old friends having their children, getting married, young folks around you getting engaged and Satan wedging into your mind and saying: ‘What about you? Do you really think you can wait? You are growing older and you are still alone. Almost 30.’ I am not the only one. But through God, we are going to get what God has granted us through His sacrifice. The problem is: we are only going to get ‘em in the appointed time. We could ask God: when? It is a question He is not going to answer and it is more likely to sadden Him.“*

I bolded that last sentence because when I read it, it was the equivalent to an impact of a collision between an 18-wheeler truck and a baby deer. Not only was this guy right, he made me feel awful about myself and how I’ve been treating God by asking “When?” on every aspect of my life. The hardcore truth of his words was a great reality check for me which also led me to write today’s Seeing God post.

When we trust the Lord, we have to trust Him by seeing Him like how we see the wind. We can’t see Him, but because we feel His presence, we know He’s there. Just like how wind carries a seed to be planted and grown in a new place, God removes us from where we are and puts us where He wants us to be renewed (if we allow Him). Just like how wind provides us with relief when the heat becomes too much to bear, God calms us down during our difficult moments. God allows us to see Him and the fruits of His plan so that we know He is always there. It’s the equivalent to knowing that wind exists when it blows over a grassy field (like the picture above). You just know that it’s there.

Through it all, if we remain still and trust Him, we can feel God’s presence in our lives and know that He’s working on our plans and in turn, see the results of His promises.
